Belarus’ Opera and Ballet Theater to host charity sale

MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – A charity sale will be held as part of the Big New Year’s Eve Ball at the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus on the night between 13 and 14 January, BelTA learnt from the theater.

It will be the first time when the ball will host a jewelry exposition featuring upscale jewelries of Serbian artist Jelena Mandic and a charity auction. The funds raised at the auction will be transferred to the school for auditory handicapped children in Zhdanovichi.

It will be the third New Year’s Eve Ball which is to kick off at 21h00 and close after midnight.

The New Year’s Ball is a combination of different traditions of Russian, palatine and Viennese balls.

Participants will be able to try themselves in various dances such as menuet, quadrille, contradance and waltz. Professional dancers will demonstrate mazurka and old quadrille.

The ball will embrace several thematic saloons including an art show which will offer portraits of the visitors for free and a photo saloon where one will be able to take a trip around different countries and epochs and take pictures of outstanding historical people such as Madame de Pompadour, Catherine the Great or Eastern beauty Scheherazade.

The ball will include a concert with most popular arias and duets from world-known musicals and an award ceremony of the most active and brightest participants of the ball.

Dress-code (an evening dress) is a must.
